Skin Shading with Mental Ray, a free video tutorial (2.5 hours) by Alex Alvarez, Gnomon Workshop. This was made fro Maya users but might also be useful for 3ds Max users as the Skin shaders are the same in both packages. Also read Zap's comments on this free tutorial.
