Good day Mental ray peeps!

I'm challenged to solve this problem and up to know I gave up solving it. That is why I'm here and ask this simple question:

How do you render a realistic curtain?

Aside for reducing the opacity, how do we blur objects behind the material? Is there any particular shader for this? Or photoshop still the last ditch?

Try the Arc&Design shader... lower the refraction glossiness, and add a bit of translucency...

Good luck!!!

You can definitely pull that off with the A&D material and the translucency option.

A&D really rocks! I overly look at the refraction glossiness which resolves that blur behind the curtain. Thanks for your reply.
