i loaded the shader but not real sure how to set it up can some one point me in the right direction thanks guys.

hi!
if U are on maya 8, use the architectural shader from max (it contains the phisical sky shader too), Yashu provided a really nice and easy setup for it, see next topic
Anyway, you have to connect the message of the shader to miEnvironmentShader of the camera shape, or ctrl+mmdrag to your camera shape Maya will do the connection for you.

No, it's that easy, mmdrag'n'drop while holding ctrl, tchatcha ;)
Looks like it can also be used as an IBL texture. You will need to switch the IBL type to texture and use the Connection Editor to set:
mad_physicalSky.outValue -> mentalrayIblShape.color
