Hello!!!
I have a problem with the Final gather ilumination, my scene has a high size, aprox 2000 metres and I have only one Skylight for the ilumination, when i make the render, all the Image appears in a plane colors and rarely seems a Final gather picture with has blur shadows...
I think that the problems are in the Size of my file, but i
donīt kown which parameters resolve this problem, maybe FG point Interpolation, but this section i don īt know to use correctly.
Thanks and cheers :o

Try to turn on logaritmic exposure control, maybe that will help. Post a picture, it could help unerstand what problem is. Also, in final gather set diffuse bounces to at leest 1.

I īve prepared two images, one of them is with LightTracer and the other with Final gather, same light and parameters. I want something like picture with Lighttracer but in Mentalray.
If you look the picture number 2 (mental ray) the corners of the geometry aren īt darker than the picture 1, are more blur and plain colour. The problem is the lenght (meters) of my file???, around 2000 meters.
Thanks Cracadoo.
I have posted one reference picture.

If you are using max9, create arch & design material, choose mate finish template, adjust color, and in special efects tab check ambient occlusion, set the distance and hit render. I think that should work.
Good luck

Hi,
You should start using the "diagnostic" feature of MR. It can be found in the "processing" tab of the render dialog.
This will allow you to render a visual debug image of the FG points, and how they are spread around the scene.
Next, turn on radii in pixel in the FG rollup. Play with the radius and min radius.
FG points are calculated based upon the scale of your scene. The larger your world bounding box the farther apart the points will be spread.

Thanks for your help, now runs perfect, with both solutions, Arch and with FG point radius.
cheers
Oh, man! You can do such soft shadows at corners with ambient occlusion. That's pretty simple. Try this stuff!

to frun2:
