This shader exists as a map in VRay and I was wondering if something similar exists in mental ray.

Usage: Using a water texture on a plane that "detects" the rocks sticking through the plane and uses that data as a mask to apply foam to those areas.

This is similar to what is covered in the Architectural / V-Ray example in volume 152 of 3D World.
