Hi guys, how are you??

Well, I'm trying to light a room with MentalRay in Maya. I'm using area lights at the windows for the skylight and a directional light for the sun.

But here is the problem... everything near to the arealights are overexposed, and everything far from the arealights are too dark.

If i decrease the photon intensity, what is near to the light looks ok, but everything far from it is completely dark..

What should i do???

Thanks!!

One word: Tone-mapping

Another word: Linear Work Flow

Oops, that was three words. ;)

increase the number of photons, maybe that might solve your problem, also are you using any falloff on the light?
