Hey i want to create light beams entering a windows. I know i have to use participating media volumetric effects, but i cant get to work. I;ve followed every tutorial on the web but still nothing.
geometry
I created a cube with a lambert assinged to it, as a recipient for the fog. Dissabled the primary visibility and cast and receive shadows as well as reflection and refraction visibility. Finally reseversed the normals so that they oint inwards the cube.
MAterial.
Conected a trans mat to the material slot of the lambert shading group
Attached a pati volume to the lambert group node's volume slot
And finally conected the parti volume photon to the volume photon of the same shading group.
The light is a spot light emmiting photons with mental ray shadows map enabled.
Finally in the render global set volume samples to 10 .
All i get is a black render even if rised the scatter option both in the party volume as in parti volume photons.
Im using Maya 2011 windows 7 24 gb ram i7 960.
PLEASE i dont know what else to try enyoneas has a clue bout this?
Thanks in advanced
