How to set up shading network with only mental ray node
with a texture? And is there an equivalent of the sampler info in mr and how to set it up?

Hi,
I don't really understand why this could not be done with the UI ?
But anyway you can build you shading network directly in a .mi file (= mental ray shader declaration file).
This is called a phenomenon, you can find some examples in the Maya folder with the car paint shader for example.
Search for phenomenon in the .mi files or Maya.

for the sampler info you can use JS_FacingRatio from pixero find it here:
http://www.pixero.com/downloads_mr.html
but i think the sampler info for maya node do the same thing
