View Full Version : Mad Velvet doesn't work???

Hello everyone.
I just tried the Mad velvet shader on 3ds Max but it render black.
Is it not compatible with 3ds Max 9 or MR 3.5????....or am i doing something wrong.....????
I had also tested the CTRL_Fur shader but it didn't work either...

for me in max 9 prod booster madvelvet works fine...do you use the mi declaration for max or mi for maya?...ctrl fur is a geo shader that only works with maya...you can (must) use it with maya fur only to fix some limitations:) but with max donīt work

There are 2 mi files?????....i downloaded one from http://www.madcrew.se/blog/index.php?d=03&m=11&y=06&category=5
in the .zip file there were 3 files (madvelvet.dll, madvelvet.mi, render_madvelvet.xpm).....i placed the first two in the appropriate folders....i left the last file as i don't know what to do with it..........

try to download in the great dave´s web,maxplugins.de

the xpm file is a icon for maya material selector ,you don´t need this file in max

Thanks for the help...I'll try it......it's a pity iut doesn't work on 64bit

p_megatk shader works with 64 bit and it has a lot o layers including a velvet specular function based on the gonzalo garramuņo velvet shader and works very fine:)
