Hello!

I'm new here and I'm new to 3ds Max and I have an problem with my shadows and it's driving me crazy! I tried to search for an answere on internet of course, but couldn't find the right answere. Hope you guy's can help me or can give me a suggestion where I can find help. :)

As I said: shadow is my problem. I try to render an quite large outdoor scene. Maybe 500.000 polys. This is my workflow: I make a drawing in civil 3d (that's my core business) and then I export the file tot 3ds Max design to make a simple visual representation of the plans. In 3ds Max I create A daylightsystem. So I don't realy have any knowledge of 3ds Max. I did a few tutorials though. The first time it worked fine. (look at fist attachment). I had to adust a few settings, but then I had a reasonable result. (Reasonable for me and my employer). But now I have a quite largere project and when I repeat the staps I took the first time but I don't get shadows.

If I adjust de daytime from for example 12 to 16, the light in my viewport changes, but I don's see shadow. (I can give some screenshots if needed) Also in my renderings there are no shadows of course. Does anyone has a suggestion, were to look for a solution? Is there a problem with my lights? Where can I check if there are problems?
