How does the ranking work? why am I Hobbyist?

I had received a lot of e-mal asking me about the ranks. Usually forums will keep this a secret but I am making it public
so here is the list. and just like the other forums the rank changes in increments.


Hobbyist
Intern
Freelancer
Crew
Junior Artist
Senior Artist
Shot Lead
Lead Artist
Cg supervisor
VFX Supervisor


And few surprises in between.

Well, I think if it might be missleading if you label or labeled something your not. Take me for example, I'm really just a hobbyist. If I labeled myself as a cg supervisor when I'm actually not qualified for it, then it doesn't do any good for me to give any advice or technical support when I probably don't have skills to do so. This is just my 2cents on the matter. The site admin is the one that has final say so.

Dont sell yourself short, If you reach CG supervisor Is because you deserved it. It shows that you had help or contribute in enogh thread. And helping is something to be proud of, Sometimes it takes time research and a lot of typing to help other mental ray users, so why not reward yourself with mymentaray title of CG supervisor :D
