Problem with mental ray lighting (newbie)

Hi,
I'm new with Maya Mental Ray feature. Try out to do my own lighting on my cartoon scene. Why do I have this strange white reflection on the skin of my models? Did I do something wrong on the lighting technique or shader?

Hard to say for sure without seeing scene, but the reflection looks like its part o f the environment, Re you using an HDRI for reflections?

If you are you can minimize that by adjusting the settings in the color balance tab of the HDRI's attributes. Start by bringing the gain down a bit.
