View Full Version : matte shadow in 3dsmax8

It there any shadow/matte shader for 3dsmax8 that works with final gather? because the final gather does not trow the shadows or GI into the matte planes i create, how do you guys work around this?

i usually creqate a new scene and put a white material to the scene and get only the shadows of the plane for compositing later, but it is surely not the best way to do that...

I think he ment that your thread needs to be moved to the 3dsmax section by a mod.
I can't help you, i use maya. Sorry.

i have the same problem's too.. i have try irradiance Matte..

it's make the plane catch FG shadow.. but i think that's not the best way to do in some case.. cause it's still leave a color of a plane little bit.. :mad:
