View Full Version : logarithmic exposure control
i found a lot of tutorials on the net concerning mental ray's new sun/sky lighting setup.
unfortunately they are all written for mr+max9 and refering to logarithmic exposure control for exterior daylight.
is this feature also availabe in maya?
thanks for your help in advance

Are you using Maya 8.5? You can "tone map" renders via the mia_exposure_simple (under MR nodes -> lens). It's just more a manual setup than Max's implementation - which is very nice and easy.
Just plug this exposure node into your camera and be sure that you are rendering with MR. See Maya help file -> mia material doc for details on the settings.

I saw here some post in max's part of forum, comparing mia_exposure and logarithmic, I think it is Chip's work. To be honest pics controlled via mia_exposure, for me, give better resuts.
