View Full Version : fast glossy reflexion for Car Paint,

hi guys,

i want use the carpaint shader and have two problem. First the glossy reflexion are very slowly and i can´t use it for the renderelement. I think i have found a solution. :o

The Carpaint shader is only a phenomenon and consists of mi_metallic_paint, mi_bump_flakes, mib_illum_lambert, mib_glossy_reflexion and mib_color_interpolate. You must only in the \mentalray\shaders_standard\include/paint.mi remove the word "hidden" in the gui from mi_metallic_paint and mi_bum_flakes shader. Then can you use this shader in the archi&desgin material color + bump and it´s works this renderelements. ;)

I was very interested after reading this post if this would really work. I just tried it and now my max9 64bit crashes every time I start max. So I ended up just putting back my orginial paint.mi file to get max working again.

Maybe I didn't edit my pain.mi file correctly or it doesn't work with the 64bit build of max9.

Curious anyone else try this.
