Hi there!!

Well, here is an image i did with MentalRay in Maya.. just a little of final gather and arealights with quadratic decay..

http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/9862/inside2gk6.jpg

I want it to look real, but it's really not good.. it's just like 3d..

My shaders are to poor, i know..

So, could anyone help with that?? How could i get a more realistic image with this scene??

Thank you all!!

It's a good start already ! :)

Your seats have no specular, so it doesn't look like a kind of velvet material. I suggest you to map the specular with a fallof (Perpendicular/parallel in max) as a mask which blend the diffuse and the spec and noise very tightly the bump or the displacement, for exemple.

I think the plastic needs more reflections and the scene itself more photons bounces. For exemple, the "wall" near the seats are not tinted by them, and i think it would be better with more reflections.

Hope you don't mind my critics, i just try to think about your picture, as a personal exercice too (not really advanced in 3d ^^).
And I like how the light enter through the glasses. ;)

Waiting with you for others comments... :)

The seats material have some specular, but it's not enough..

i'll try to improve that material with more specular, and some fallof, as you said.. and i'll try to do the same with the incendescence, to get more of that velvet kind of surface..

actually, i've tried some sets this way, but i'm using maya's cloth as bump for the seats, and it didn't look nice..

there is just a few bounces of light, couse i'm not using global illumination.. just a little of final gather..

i set some lights in the scene to simulate those bounces..

thanks for your help!! i'll improve this a little more, try to get that plastic and velvet look, and then i'll post the results here!!
