maybe some of you have noticed that changing the multipler parameter of a spot light doesn't change the volume light effect???
i'm using max 9 and parti volume shader in the volume of the renderer
if can be useful i can post the test scene too

have you a object in the background? For example a enviroment sphere. That what you need to see the fog.

yes i've a sphere in the background, with a mental ray material with an output map in the surface slot
the problem is that the volume appear, but the multipler of the light doesn't affect its aspect, that remain always the same
however i've managed to get a good working result with photometric point light, so maybe i'll use them for now, but it's strange that the standard spotlight doesn't work >.<

do you use logaritmic exposure control ?

no, but i don't think it affect the appearence of the volume light... or yes??? ō_O
here is the test file, if you have a little time can you see it???
if the multipler of the light affect the aspect of the volume, maybe it could be a problem of mine
