This is the "Bridge of Sighs", one of the important sightseeing buildings in Venice Italy. I've built this 3D-scene only with the help of some reference-photos from the internet. I've never been there. I tried to get as close as possible to the original mood. But the modeling shouldn't be a perfect copy of the original (or, it wasn't possible with the the references I had).
It was modeled and textured with Maya 8 (Mental Ray renderer) and final work was done in Photoshop (fog, more dirt...). Most of the textures were created by myself.
The image was finished last October, and was also posted at CG-Talk.

If you got some questions... simply ask me ;)

enjoy :)

wow real nice image i love the brick wall on the right. only thing id say is some of the detailing on the left hand side is to perfect. maybe you want to nibble at some of those hard edges as a post process in photoshop just to add some chips and dents, imperfections in some of the stone work like you have done on the underside of the bridge. i wouldnt model these imprefections in but just retouch afterwards in photoshop. that is if its only for a still ofcourse. anyway apart from that bloody amazing :P

How is your lighting?

I always want to know how to lighting a scene like the real world!

It's great work!

It's a wonderful model :)

However the render would require a bit work in my opinion. It has this shallow scanline look to it on bottom half of the image, and I'm not sure what causes it. But other than that, well done :)
