I'm using 3DS Max Design 2010 and my scene is indoors, no windows and contains a huge amount of structure (think large workstands in an airplane hangar) with lots of beams and details. I've decided to use the technique for ambient occlusion where you place an omni light at 0,0,0 with an ambient occlusion shader in the projector map slot and no final gather. It shades nicely and omits all the big shadows on the walls and FG flicker. Unfortunately, the scene is not "crisp". It looks short of hazy. How do I make it look less washed out and sharper? Thanks.
