I stumpled across this glass shader, maybe someone might find it useful. I only tried it on 3ds max but it should also work under Maya at least it claims so. But since there is no combined material forum, I put this here

I noticed you have to set the sampling level quite high if it is very rough/frosty glass to get good results. I guess that is something the author is complaining about on their site.

Im confused on how to setup the maya.rayrc file. Can you post an example of what it supose to look like. Example, like the
link "{MAYABASE}/lib/MFacetGlass.{DSO}"
and the
link "{MAYABASE}/lib/MFacetGlass.{DSO}"
Thanks

Sorry I am a 3ds Max user can't really tell you how to do supposed to add custom materials to Maya. I think it is similar to what is descriped on this page:
http://www.dl3d.com/index.php/en/tutorials/mentalray-maya-xray-shader-tutorial.html
But I am pretty sure if you ask in the Maya forum they will be able to help you!
Sorry!
