View Full Version : Final gather tuning in maya 8.5

Hi Guys,
I am rendering this glass bottle using the new mia_material. When I use final gather to render the glass I get lots of artefacts (see the image), However when I change the material to a regular mia_setting there are no artefacts. Can anyone help out?:(

After looking at this problem, I have found out that it has something to do with the bump on the glass, although I'm not sure why it is happening. I shall look into it!

Ive beed trying for hours now to sort this problem out.
It has got something to do with final gather and the bump map on the glass,
If anyone has got any idesa i'd love to hear them!!!:(

i am also curious about ur problem.
Is this caused by the 'secondary diffuse bounce FG ray' from the glass?
Or it happened from the 'first diffuse bouce FG ray'??
Maybe u could post your scene let me and others get some try:)

found the way :) just FG Filter =1

With filter=1
I think the overall illumination are "wrong (darkened) " for physical correct intensity while I think no filter is "wright" for intensity, who knows how to deal with this???
