unable to install a shader

Hello, i am trying to install this http://highend3d.com/maya/downloads/shaders/3886.html mr shader in maya 8, but it does not seem to appear for me in the misc, or any other mr shader tabs. I also tried writing

link "{MAYABASE}/lib/dl3d_wireframetexture.{DSO}"
mi "{MAYABASE}/include/dl3d_wireframetexture.mi"

to the maya.rayrc file, even though i don't think it is nessasary, but it didn't change anything. Is anything i am perhaps skipping?

Open the mi declaration file, and have a look at the end:

It states:

apply texture

That's the section where you have to look for. It's working just fine on Maya 8. And no use for editing rayrc if you put it in default dir.

You may prefer use it as a texture plugged in a surface shader rather than as a shader itself. Depends.

Yes, this is my shader :p

And it's a texture shader as it doesn't use any light.
the difference between a material and texture shader in mental ray is that a material uses the scene lights while a texture doesn't.
