Hi,
I want to have the same result of a skylight in the default render.
But I cannot with mental ray. (Just a skylight)
Someone have a useful link?
Regard.

The attached file is the result that I want. I made it with a skylight in the default reder.

you could use Ambient Occlusion or just FG to simulate that. i would go for using MIA materials and use the integrated AO.
cheers.

better yet:
use a standard / mental ray mat and put the ambient occlusion material in the diffuse slot, turn off FG & GI, and Exposure control
renderspeed is ultimate and the ambient occlusion diffuse-slot allows for a better control of quality / speed

I may be missing the point (and if I am apologies)
but why not just use the skylight with MR? Works
just the same, only difference is you need FG turned
on to get a light calculation from it!

but why not just use the skylight with MR? well, as ethan said its faster to render and better control. Anyway it seems MADAWEB has a variety of flavors to try...

Mental Ray cannot handle tiffs with compression, uncompressed tiffs are fine.
