View Full Version : Mentalray SSS Skin Material Problem

Hi guys... That is my first post on forum...
Iīm having problems with SSS Fast Skin Shader of Mentalray for 3Ds MAX 9.
When I render with 3 point light without Finalgather the shader works perfectly... But When I render with Skylight added a Free Spot to get more volume and cast Shadows with Finalgather the Shaders appear "DARK"... Other Shaders and materials work perfectly. I know that problem is in the SSS Skin Shader... I canīt set the shader to work correct with Skylight and Finalgather. Someone can Help me? I think the SSS Fast Skin have some parameter to fix this, but I donīt know where and how fix this!

you must "on" the option "scatter indirect illumination"

oh,

you musst in the "sss fast material" turn off the option "Screen (soft) compositing of Layers".

Sorry confuced :) you were right about skylight, i thought hes speaking about MR skylight and sun.

wow tanks chip! tested with "screen comp layers" turned off and MR skylight and sun, works great :)
