I have a pretty complex model and am now trying to render the interior. A lot of the building is glass windows and I have 2 areas that have curved shaped windows to them. On the rest of the windows im using an area light- portal light-blackbody. Those lights also have to be pretty much flat with the window panes too I believe so no artiffacting or unwanted light gets in.

So how would I go about using that for my curved part of the glass???

I use a large portal outside the window for this kind of situation. You could use many smaller ones inside, but the render times will increase heavily.

yeah but if the portal light is not against the windows themselves, you will get artifacts(ing) from the outside coming into your scene. Plus since Im going for photo-realism, it will have incorrect lighting behavior, especially with shadows i believe.

well, in those cases i use two or three portal lights, so you can cover the whole area.

hope it helps.

Ive been trying to do some potraiture... the AF cant lock on the subject. It always going back and fort. Since Im using a wireless flash trigger, i can use the AF assist. What are your suggestions?
