Hi
Here<s my problem.
I try to render a animated scene with GI, FG and IBL. The render take about 10 min when I preview it in maya, but when I start a batch render to render the whole sequence, it doesn't start. (stay at 0%)
somebody can help me on this....??
I use Maya 8.0

I'm having the same issue. I was able to get past it by unchecking the area light options under the mental ray attributes on a spot light in my scene. Now, I've added motion blur to my scene and I'm back in the same boat again. The render freezes at 0%. I wonder if this is a Maya 8.0 specific issue. Are you using the 64-bit version?

I have had the same problem... was on the phone with Alias (at that time) for hours... it has not reared it's head since installing 8.0 and 8.5... but used to happen all the time. For me it would even render 1 frame or 2 and then nothing. It would say it was still rendering, but cpu usage was at 0% for an entire weekend.
I never did get it resolved... I would be on the phone with Autodesk about it, because I do not believe it is a settings issue within Maya... you will drive yourself crazy trying to turn things on and off to get it to work... I think it has to do with a core problem in Maya.
Report it if you can!
