Hiya.

I was checking out Simon Reeve's page: "Lighting Studio - Setup" where the light is generated from objects whose materials have an output map in the self illumination slot of a standard material and then cranking up the Final Gather.
I decided to start playing around with it.

Interesting results so far.
I decided to see what an HDR would do for it, and I am still experimenting with various settings and so forth.

I am posting it here to see if anyone else has played with this technique and maybe get some inout on things to try.
This is not a serious WIP or anything, just a general learning of new things.

The materials for the skull and eyes, by the way, came from the CGTalk-MR.mat lib, with a few tweaks.

The objects to light the scene are two spheres, one bigger than the other, normal map modifiered, then various sections of polygons removed, so the outer sphere can play too.
Each has a different image in the Output's map slot, and set to different strengths(under the output rollout)

Any thoughts?
