Hi Guys,
Pro Engineer Wildfire 5.0 now uses Mental Ray Materials for Rendering, but the only problem is that I can't find any Mental Ray Materials to use within Pro Engineer as there all for 3D Studio Max or Maya.
If people know of any sites or a way or converting them I would be more than greatfull.

Hello,
I'm in touch with someone of PTC in France to get some informations about this integration of MR in Pro/E.
I want to know if they planned to develop an exporter for pro/e in Mentall Mill as there is one for Catia.
I want to know also how implement the "mi_round_corners" feature in a Pro/E adv Shader.
I'll post here every information I get...

Wildfire 5.0 does integrate the Mental Ray render... but not well. I just placed a call with PTC because turning on Global Illumination actually turns it off in the rendering options interface. I've been working with them on this prblem for 2 weeks and they still can not offer me an answer. I made a cornell box and tried to see if bounce light was working, but it was not. Only when I turned final gather on and GI off did it work. Hopefully the next date code fixes this problem

Hmm sounds a bit like the integration in CATIA which isn't reknown to be the best or in SolidWorks slightly better. I don't know why mental ray integration in CAD package are so much behind DCC packages? Well my personal guess is because rendering isn't the most important feature?
