View Full Version : Urgent_DOF & Reflections

Hi guys, 1rst topic in here, nice community.

I'm currently working on an Mental Ray animation, and have a big issue with the mental ray DOF.
I want to render a simple black plastic (blinn) with 0.1 of reflectivity.
When the DOF is off, no problems, the plastic is like I wish.
The problem is when it's on, the black plastic gets 100% reflective, for some reason...

I tried to switch for a Phong, but no results ...

HELP that animation is due to next sunday !

Do your DOF in comp and use Puppets depth shader...it works very well with reflections!

Try turning off reflection on your material, render it out. Then render out a reflection pass at 100% reflectivity, and in compositing you can adjust the opacity to get the results you want.
