Hi :)

Since displacement mapping is related to shader and to rendering I didn't know exactly where to put this question so I think it's best in this part of the forum, forgive me if I'm wrong :)
I'm trying to use the mr displacement and I really have a lot of difficulty getting a good result. Especially, I can't find a way to keep a good continuity between faces (for example, the end of a wall with displaced stones) Usually, the faces tear away from each other.
Here are the methods I tried :
- With the A&D material using a bitmap in the displacement slot and trying various value for the displacement.
- Using a mental ray material with a 3D displacement map (+ bitmap) or using a height map displacement map (+ bitmap)
Of course I tried to play with the various parameters but and to change the values in the displacement settings part of the render dialog but so far no luck.
Do I do something wrong, do I forget something ?
Any help would be much appreciated :)
Thank you in advance :)

I have always found it useful to round the corners of my wall (assuming that your wall is free standing). But if there is a better solution, I would be all ears.

I may have misunderstood your question, but it sounds like you just need to turn off the smoothing option on the displacement.
