1. Mental Ray contour shaders (takes a while to setup but gives you more parameter control)
2. VectorRender for Maya (easiest one, works ok for me)
3. UV method (you assign your UV layout as a color/transp texture to your geometry....in this case you should have clean poly-mesh in order to get clean wire)

hello, here is a nice nurbs wireframe renderer too, have to pay but there is a free 7day trial to play with

You can also find one pure mental ray shader for free wich works for triangles and quads wireframe on our web site http://www.dl3d.com in the download section.

Really quick setup and simple control over your basematerial and the wireframe size.

TIP Donīt forget to turn on Mental ray as your renderer before proceeding to the material editor, otherwise you donīt get the good result in the material editor
