First successful volume light, thanks to hot chip's post here and jeff paton's pdf about the shader.

many things could be improved, but what do you whing is really essential to tweak?
The TV sits on the wall like a stamp, i am just about to research how to link it to an extra light and make it cast shadows on the wall (max2009).Is it the right approach?
Best Regards

i think it looks cool i personally had experiences very little with parti volume, i always fake it in comp with depth passes =P so is nice to see them been use.

How long does something like that takes to render, does in any way takes in account the FG and GI?

Yes
I was a bit concerned with the increased time for FG calculation. Since i got used to very fast FG (i always use draft). This time it was really slow, maybe 10 min or more, and it was slow not only in the area with the effect.
What about compositing the effect, do I need a dedicated compositing software (nuke, combustion, etc)?
Could it be naturally achieved in PS, cause i try to implement a "linear workflow" with 32 bit output using photomatix & PS (only stills).
Best Regards

for compositing i would mix this volumetric with a depth matt pass, and probably i will make it a bit more heavy and control it in compositing, but once again i think i can do the whole effect all together just using a depth matt pass
