it seems i cant get rid of this error:
PHEN 0.3 error: Shader 'mia_portal_light': Light direction must be 0 0 z
Dont undestand whats causing it, there doesnt seem to be any problem, but would like to know what is it.

I'm getting errors too, but in 3dsmax, I can't remember the error off the top of my head but, the cause was the portal light was to wide.
I will track down the error I got.

same here...
but i was solve this problem..which light u use for portal light ..Area light..point light..spot light...and other...
i was use arealight for porta light..n i have same error..
after i use spotlight and open mentalray tab..click area light and visible..maybe ur problem solve...

You need a uniform scale for the area light.
But the error is not important is just an informartion
